He would have told you!

John 14th Chapter
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Thinking back on my childhood, I recall having the most giving mother a person could have. However, mom did have her limitations. As a single parent with two jobs, she was working to make ends meet, and whenever she could give, she would give. But when she did not have it to give, she would often share this bit of poetry in jest…

If I had it,
you could get it,
cause I’d love to see you wit’ it…
But ain’t no doubt about it,
you have to do without it…
cause I ain’t got it!

Of course, this did not rate highly as my favorite piece of “poetry” merely because of the outcome, which resulted in my not getting what I wanted. However, as much as I disliked hearing the poem, it was the result of my mom being honest with me at the time.

In the second verse of this week’s text, we see Jesus being totally honest with us regarding what His Father has for us. Let’s take a closer look:

2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.

In sum, Jesus is telling us, “I would not lie to you regarding what the Father has for you.” You see, Jesus is not like the trifling friend who always talk about what they have, and then when you need it they don’t have it. He’s honest enough to tell you exactly what’s in His Father’s house for you. Why? Because Jesus is the High Priest of our profession and confession. He is the highest authority over what is said and spoken over our lives and He ensures that the spoken word of Heaven comes to pass for us. Saying that, let’s look at some of the “spoken” things that are in the Father’s House.

Propserity…
Psalms 35:27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
…But if it were not there, He would have told you!

Forgiveness and Healing
Psalms 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
…But if it were not there, He would have told you!

Peace
Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. 4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
…But if it were not there, He would have told you!

Deliverance
2 Samuel 22:18 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.
19 They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.
…But if it were not there, He would have told you!

Life
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
…But if it were not there, He would have told you!

The blessing that you are in need of is in the Father’s house, and this day we speak that blessing upon you and your household. We proclaim that whatever is missing, lacking, broken, defective, or inoperable will be restored better than it was before. Marriages will be infused with agape love once again. Families will be one as the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are one. Sickly bodies will be in health and will be rejuvenated once again. Financial situations will turn around suddenly and swiftly. Those who have not had peace will now have peace in every situation and circumstance. We proclaim that you will walk in the favor of God and man in a way that you never have before. And we proclaim that whatever good and perfect gift you are in need of will manifest itself in your life through the word of God. For “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning” (James 1:17).

And because our God has it, your being His child ensures that you will get it. If it were not so… Jesus Christ, High Priest of our profession and confession, would have told you!
