Let It Go!!!

Galatians 1:13 – For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews’
religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:

About two weeks ago we shared with you what was in store for the body of Christ this
year — Restoration. Today, we break out of our series "again." Why? Because
for your restoration to occur you really have to do this. We mean, you really have to sow
what we’re about to share into your heart. You have got to feed your faith and starve
your doubt. So let’s begin—–The word, or better yet, words we were told to give
you this week are, "LET IT GO!!!"

Today we look back at a word we have studied before — "Conversation." In
the King James Version of the Bible, whenever the word "conversation" appears,
it never carries the same verbal connotation that we have given it: a transaction of words
or for one’s mouth to utter words. Instead, although each Biblical meaning of this
word refers to a form of communication, that form of communication is not verbal; it is
non-verbal.

Now in our scripture Paul writes, "[f]or ye have heard of my conversation in time
past." What does this mean? Well, before Paul got on the "good foot" for
Christ, he was a bad mamma jamma. As a matter of fact, he persecuted not only Christians
but also the disciples of the Lord. But one day while he was on his way to do damage to
the body of Christ, he "met" the Lord. So in short, this is what Paul is telling
us in our text. "You’ve heard of what I did in the past [my previous
conversation], but that was in the past. I’m operating in the plans God has for me
now!!!" Paul let go of the past and embraced what God had for him. And that’s
also where our restoration is – in God’s plans.

Our problem is that we’ve been looking over our shoulders wondering when our past
will catch up with us. It’s only going to catch up with you if you keep looking back
for it. So stop looking back!!! Stop persecuting yourself for what has happened in the
past concerning relatives. The word from the Lord is "Let it Go!!!" Stop
rehearsing over and over what you should have done or said. If you’ve made some bad
financial moves in your life – "Let it Go!!!" If you’ve done things that
you were ashamed of – "Let it Go!!!"

Today is a new day, and right now you have a chance to start over, to put those things
behind you, to press forward and not look back. Lamentations 3:22-23 states, " It is
of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are
new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." We have been blessed to get one more
chance to get over the pains of the past. By allowing us to wake up this morning, God has
given us new mercy, so just let the past go.

The past can’t be revisited or reversed; however, our futures can be enhanced and
empowered if we decide to make our way prosperous. We weren’t born for the mediocre;
we were put here for the magnificent. What is done is done, but more important, what is
UNDONE is just that—- UNDONE, and that is what needs to be done for you to operate in
God’s plan for your life. Let Go & Let God!!!
