Thank God for the Signs

1 Mins read

“When they [the wise men] saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.” -Matthew 2:10

During my teens and early twenties, I would constantly hear people ask the question: “What’s Your Sign?” This was oftentimes an opening line guys would use to try to pick up girls, and it was so sad!! Well, these guys were referring to horoscopes, but the sign I want to talk about is your God-given sign.

You see, as we go through life, God will place supportive people, unusual favor, exciting opportunities—big or small— in our lives to lead us in the right direction, just like He used the star to guide the wise men to Jesus. But sometimes, we’re so busy looking for the manifestation or the miracle itself that we fail to see God’s hand directing us in the way we should go.

Matthew 2:10 tells us that the wise men “rejoiced with exceeding joy” —-not when they saw Jesus but “when they saw the star!” That’s right! They praised God BEFORE the promise was revealed, not when the promise came to pass. Why? Because that star told them that they were on the right path toward their destiny.

As we celebrate Christmas, don’t forget to take the time to thank God for the ultimate sign/gift: Jesus! Then thank God for the other signs He’s placed in your life to let you know that you’re heading in the right direction. Of course, at times you may get a little uncomfortable or impatient; you may even have to sacrifice along the way. But praise your way through, knowing that your breakthrough, your promise, your destiny is just ahead. Thank God for the signs!!
Merry Christmas,

Veronica Yon
