Your Enemies Are Helping To Set You Up For Success
Psalms 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine
enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
In the presence of my enemy… This is a place many of us are, yet we don’t
want to be there. In the presence of my enemy… It’s a place where we are not
comfortable. It’s a place where we face conflict and criticism. It’s a place
where others attempt to condemn and crucify us. However, it is the place where
you are being setup to succeed, and the reason you don’t know it is because
it doesn’t "feel" good. Let me explain this a little better.
For some reason or another, you wound up smack dab in the middle of the enemy’s
camp – in the presence of your enemy. Now, I’m not going to tell you that you
did anything wrong and that’s why you wound up there. I’m not going to even
try to be "all spiritual" and say you were out side the Will of God
and that’s why you are there. Quite honestly, I don’t know how you got there,
but if you’re there, then you’re there! And if you are there, then I know this
– your enemy is going to help you succeed there!
Yes, beloved of God! Right in the presence of your enemy, your very enemy is
blindly assisting you for success. How so? Our text says this, "Thou preparest
a table before me in the presence of mine enemies." Now we know that the
"Thou" in the text is the Lord. But let me ask you this question.
If the Lord prepares the table, who is going to "bring" the table?
Think about this for a while. The Lord is preparing it to come to pass, but
where is it "physically" coming from? From your enemies!
The pain, problems, people, and principalities you are currently facing are
actually preparing you for promotion. You aren’t going through all of this for
no reason. God’s got His divine hand on you with His divine plan working for
you. And while your enemies are circling the wagons believing that the victory
is theirs, they have no idea that not only do you have a calvary coming, but
also you have what was done on Calvary, which ensures that you never lose.
But it gets better. Your enemies thought they would have peace if they drove
you out. So while they are plotting and planning your exit, God is actually
preparing their exit. The evil end they had intended for you will be theirs.
The rest of our text tells us that in the presence of your enemies, the Lord
Anoints you – "thou anointest my head with oil." I believe that no
matter how you got into the camp, God allowed you there just to anoint you.
He let you go there simply to give you His power. Even when we are hardheaded
with our bad selves, God allows us to wind up in the presence of our enemies
so that He can do only what He can do – Show Up and Show Out!!
Too often, we want out of the enemy’s camp when it doesn’t feel good. Honestly,
I found myself there this past week, but now I see that God doesn’t want me
out until He shows out, and then I can come out. Ooohhh child of God, I see
miracles for you in the presence of your enemies. I see you healed, whole, delivered,
set free, taking over, over coming, binding demons and loosing blessings because
you are anointed to do it in the presence of your enemies. And then, when the
dust settles and all is said and done. When you are exalted instead of executed
and when you have been blessed by the Father and not beaten by your enemies
you can surely say —"my cup runneth over."
