Hello Ladies,
This morning, as I was flipping through my bible, I came across 1 Corinthians, chapter 1. In verses 4-10, Paul tells the church in Corinth how much he thanks God for the grace given to them by Jesus Christ. You see, Paul had gotten word that these people had been “cutting up.” They were fussing and fighting over stuff like whose gift was more important. They truly were not focused on the main thing, so Paul had to remind them of God’s grace.
Many of you may know the standard definition of grace: “God’s unmerited favor.” Well, a note in my bible says that “grace is God’s free gift of salvation given to us in Christ.” Grace is something we can’t earn; it’s just freely given. When we miss the mark, there Jesus is to extend His grace to us. There He is to pick up the pieces of our lives and make everything all right.
In verse 9 of the same chapter, Paul goes on to say that “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” You see, God wants fellowship in our lives. Just as I shared last week, the people we surround ourselves with are so important to our Christian walk. But here, in this verse, we find out how we should prioritize that fellowship.
We have to make Jesus the priority, for we are called “unto fellowship” with Him FIRST. As the old saying goes, “You can’t put the cart before the horse.” Just get a mental picture of how ridiculous doing so would look. You have all of this baggage (even if you want to say “weight”) that you want to have moved (or in our case “removed”), but you’re not putting the horse, the source of power (Jesus) in the right position—in front of the situation!!!
At Restored Glory, we’ve decided to make our desire to be fit not about us but about Jesus. As we present our bodies to the Lord, we refer to our workout time as a time of worship. That’s why we begin our workouts with prayer, end our workouts in prayer, and even call on Him throughout our workouts. Of course, we “trip out” from time to time as we fellowship and encourage one another, but we also want to make sure we stay focused on the main thing: Jesus, the Source of our strength!!
Mathew 6:33 tells us to “seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” My sisters, if you want God to fully operate in your life and if you want to reach your desired goals, accept His grace and make a quality decision today to get “into fellowship” with Jesus Christ——FIRST!!
