Today, I just wanted to send you a quick note to encourage you to keep going. When you think you can’t go on, when you begin to second guess the plans God has for you and the dreams He has set before you, remember that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you! (Philippians 4:13).
This week has been a super busy week, as I have been juggling multiple projects at work in addition to my regular teaching and administrative responsibilities. One colleague called me an “Energizer Bunny,” and another called me a “Little Dynamo.” I give God the glory because He is the One who is giving me the strength, energy, and wisdom to do it. He is the One who has given me a supportive husband, too, who takes up the slack at home during these periods when I’m out late at meetings or other functions on campus—or even working-out at the church!
But regardless of whether you have that family/friend support system right there, remember that you always have the Holy Spirit who lives inside of you. He is the One who gives you strength. He is the One who will give you the wisdom on how to make things work. It may mean fixing dinner in the morning before you go to work or even planning out the entire week of meals. It may mean sleeping with your exercise clothes on or laying them next to the bed, so when you get up you can squeeze in a work-out. Whatever the strategy you need, God’s got it!
One of the scriptures I have been meditating on comes from Psalms 18: 28-29:
“You, O Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light. With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall” (NIV). Did you get that? With God’s help, you can keep going. With God’s help, you can play offense for a change. With God’s help, you can be proactive– in attack mode, advancing against those obstacles in your life, not waiting for them to attack you. In the King James Version, the 29th verse reads, “For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.” Yes, with God’s help, you can be like Super Man—or in our case, Super Woman, leaping tall buildings with a single bound!!
Today, my sisters, I encourage you to allow God to do what He wants to do in your life. Let Him put His “super” on your “natural,” so you can leap over those walls in your life!
Get Movin’!
