Where Do You Want To Go In 2000? – Part III

Where God Wants You To Be

Genesis 12:

1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and
from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great;
and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee,
and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. 4
So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was
seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.

Happy New Year everyone! This week we will conclude our series regarding our Godly
Destiny in Year 2000. The first two places we discussed were (1) Where You Were and (2)
Where You Are. This week we discuss the third option: Where God Wants You To Be. Many of
us struggle and wonder, "where does God want me to be?" Well, the big surprise
is He may have already told you through dreams, visions or by speaking to you. The one
thing that has kept you from getting there is you haven’t moved yet.

In the 12th chapter of Genesis, we see the Lord issuing a DEATH SENTENCE to
Abram. What??!! A death sentence??!! That’s not right, is it? OF COURSE IT IS NOT
RIGHT!!! But that’s the way many of us see change. We see it as a death sentence. You
don’t believe me? Think about the change that you just experienced — Y2K. So many
people feared a simple turn of time; it was ridiculous. But what if Abram would have had
the same fear? He probably would have prepared for the worse, stayed in his comfort zone,
and missed his Godly destiny. But he didn’t do that; instead, he pursued what God had
for him. He had no idea of where he was supposed to go. All the Lord told him was this:
"Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto
a land that I will shew thee:" (1st). In other words, the Lord was just
telling him, "Go!!! And when you get there I’ll show you where ‘there’
is and what to do when you get there." I tell you nothing but the truth. For the Lord
to tell some of us to go without us not knowing every detail would kill us! Bless God,
many of us would actually think that we had been condemned to the "chair" all
because we didn’t know how it would work out. All you need to know is this: It will
work out!!! It might not work out like you thought it would, but it will work out!!!

I also like the additional info the Lord gave Abram on "Going" —
"Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house"
(1st). In other words, you may need to leave behind that which is familiar (people, places
and things) and just GO!!!! You’ve passed by that college over and over and over
again and said, "I sure would like to take a class, But…." Or
you’ve passed by that building and said, "I sure would like to work there, But…"
Well honey, it’s time for us to get up off of our BUTs and GO!!! Why? Because
we’ve been missing too many blessings by staying where we are.

Let’s look at the 2nd and 3rd verses: 2
And I will make of thee a great nation [doesn’t sound like a death sentence to me],
and I will bless thee [empower you to prosper], and make thy name great; and thou shalt be
a blessing [an example & source of Godly prosperity to others]: 3
And I will bless them that bless thee [empower those to prosper that empower you to
prosper], and curse him that curseth thee [directly take care of the people that attempt
to hold you back] and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Again, does this sound like doom and destruction? Of course not, but it sure required a
good deal of faith. Abram didn’t know the end, but the Lord did. All Abram had to
depend on was the word of God and that was it. He had to go when God told him to go. So to
close, we will leave you with this: "What’s keeping you from going?" If God
has given it to you, what’s keeping you from going? And for those of you waiting on a
sign, forget the sign; here’s a word: "Go!" Most of the time we use signs
to keep us safe or to keep us from being placed at risk. These signs usually say,
"Danger," "Slow Down," "Take Caution," "Use Care,"
and the one too many of us have been reading, "STOP!" Another favorite is,
"I’m Too Old." But remember, the 4th verse tells us that Abram
was 75 years old when he left!!!! In all honesty, when we look for signs we should look
for the ones that say, "Walk By Faith," "Believe God," "Stand on
His Promises," and "Know that He has Your Destiny
in His Hands." So now that you are fresh out of excuses — Go!!!

We are living in an extraordinary period in time. We have the opportunity to put behind
us not only a year, a decade, and a century, but a millennium as well. Therefore, the word
for this "turn of time" is GO!!! Stop wondering, "can I or should I?"
Just GO!!! Stop wondering, "Will it be hard of difficult?" Just GO!!! God has
blessed you "for such a time as this," and the time is now —- So Go!!!
