Fighting From Victory

Fighting From Victory

1 Corinthians 15:57 – "But thanks be to
God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

As we go through life we often feel
defeated. Sometimes we face trials that seem as though they will never go away.
What’s worse is that sometimes we surround ourselves with the wrong people who
reenforce this philosophy. However, God has shared with me a message that has
been turning me upside down and inside out for a few weeks. He spoke to me and
said, "You are not only fighting for victory — you’re fighting from
victory."

Our text states, "But thanks be to God,
which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." Last year, we
taught you that on occasion whenever you see "eth" on the end of a
word in the Bible, it means that an act is CONSTANTLY occurring. So we know
that our text is saying that God gives us victory constantly, consistently, and
continually. Victory never stops; it just keeps coming and coming and coming.
Quitting in pity should not be an option. Camping out in the land of despair is
not a choice. Hanging out in the land of hopelessness is not an alternative.
We’ve just got to keep on keepin’ on in the name of Jesus, and we shall see the
goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (Psalms 27:13).

Your victory is not an accident waiting to
happen; it’s an appointment that will spring forth in the fullness of time. How
do we know this?

Ephesians 1st
Chapter: 3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4According
as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should
be holy and without blame before him in love: 5Having predestinated
us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the
good pleasure of his will,

This scripture shows us that we have been
blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ (3rd). But
what we really need to take note of is WHEN we were blessed with these
blessings. The 4th verse tells us that it occurred before the foundation of the
world. Yes child of God, before the 1st chapter of Genesis, you were blessed.
Before God said, "let there be," honey you were blessed with every
spiritual blessing out of heaven. Your Father loved you so much that He
orchestrated every victory in your life before He created the very dirt we
stand on.

So if He created your victory before the
"in the beginning"(Genesis 1:1), it sounds like you started off in
victory. It sounds like God "fixed" the race before you even got on
the track. I’m sure that hell is a little upset with that fact because Satan
and his cohorts thought you were a long shot. They thought you wouldn’t make
it, but God knew you were a winner before the beginning. He not only ordained
victory in your life and made every provision for your victory, but He also
CHOSE you to be on His winning team.

Ephesians 1st
Chapter: 4According as he hath CHOSEN US in him before the
foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in
love:

The more we discuss this issue the more it
becomes evident that victory is truly ours. The fact that God blessed us, knew
us (Jeremiah 1:5), planned for us, preordained us, and chose us before the
beginning should also tell us that He has ensured we win not only in the
in-between but also in the end.

Jeremiah 29:11 –
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of
peace, and not of evil, to give you an EXPECTED END.

God has given us an expected victorious end.
He has also planned our victory before "the beginning," and according
to this week’s text He constantly, consistently, continually gives us victory.
It sounds like we’ve got victory all around us—- and we do!!! So where does
this leave us today? Fighting from victory to victory. We aren’t fighting
"an uphill battle." We aren’t fighting a losing war. Every battle has
been fought, and every victory has been won through the blood of Jesus. Every
sickness has been healed, every obstacle overcome, every sin forgiven, every
debt cancelled, every burden removed, and every yoke destroyed simply because
God has already planned our first victory, our last victory, and every victory
in between. That’s why we fight not only for victory but also FROM victory!! To
God be the Glory!
